I just bought a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and installed Office 365. I was able to write one paper using Word but the next day I tried to open it and it wouldn't open. I luckily sent the word document to my email but even when I tried opening it there, it wouldn't open on my laptop. I tried to open other programs like Excel and PowerPoint and none of those will open either. I do not receive any sort of error message, my mouse shows that its trying to work but then it just won't open! Please help!! After the latest updates Office 365 does not open. No error, no freezing. Just seems to start to load but never actually opens. In Task Manager you can see the process for winword start and then disappear after a few seconds.
I don't have any add-ins or anything installed on it since I just got the computer. Only thing that has happened is Windows Update. Obviously, this is all very ironic. Please help!! Andrea For me, the issue was only PowerPoint. It would not open for love or money - it started, then errored out.
It wouldn't even start in Safe Mode. After hours of researching, installing and uninstalling Office 365, updating printer drivers, changing default printers, and trying just about every 'fix' recently posted, it was the easiest resolution: Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit was keeping it from launching. I logged into MB Exploit, clicked on 'SHIELDS', right-clicked on 'powerpoint.exe' and chose 'Deactivate'. I launched PPT, it wanted to launch in Safe Mode, I allowed it, accepted all the pop up's, and closed it. Works great now. I hope this helps.
I use the Microsoft Home Users Program for all my office products on my personal computer. With some of the latest updates, I can no longer open ANY Office program. I can't even open an existing document. I do not get any error message. The circle flashes on the screen, like it is thinking about opening for less than a second and then nothing happens. We have tried all of the trouble shooting suggestions that we can find and nothing works. Please advise.
However, I have also read that if I uninstall and then try to reinstall, that will not work either. What is the problem and when will Microsoft fix it?
